Code · IDE 2.0

A VS Code-style editor that runs in your browser.

FormX IDE 2.0 gives you a full coding workspace without installing anything: a file explorer, multiple tabs, syntax highlighting, autocomplete, a console and a live preview for websites.

What IDE 2.0 does

Code runs in your browser using WebAssembly runtimes. Python, JavaScript, TypeScript, SQL (SQLite), C and C++ run directly in the browser. HTML, CSS and JavaScript projects render in Live Preview. For languages and capabilities the browser can't provide, you can install the optional FormX Local Agent to run code natively on your own computer.

Browser execution has memory, package and network limits. Some capabilities need the FormX Local Agent.

What can you do with it?

File explorer & tabs

Smart editing

Syntax highlighting, autocomplete, search and code formatting.

Console, terminal & problems

See output, type input for your programs and review errors in dedicated panels.

Live HTML preview

Build websites with HTML, CSS and JavaScript and see the result update as you work, at different screen sizes.

Themes & autosave

Choose an editor theme; your work is saved automatically.

Import, ZIP export & samples
